Website Tips & Techniques - Image Optimization

Optimizing images for your website can be a daunting, but necessary, task. Obtaining the right balance between image quality and file size is an essential step in creating quick-loading, functional, user friendly websites.
There are three image formats in use today; GIF, JPG (or sometimes JPEG) and PNG. We'll take a look at each format and introduce tools (some free) used to optimize images for your website.
